JH Girls Basketball vs Cowan 12/10/12

By Mike Thornburg of Monroe Central Jr.- Sr. High SchoolIt was a good night for the Junior High Girls Basketball team!! The girls played Cowan in Hall Gym and both teams picked up wins. The seventh grade won 40 to 18. Total team effort by the girls who started out pressing and took control of the game from that point on. Season record is 6 and 2. The eighth grade game started off a little slower than the 7th grade game. The girls were down 8 to 16 at halftime but came out the second half ready to play. They outscored Cowan 26 to 11 the second half to beat them. The final score was 34 to 27. This win brings their record to 5 and 4. Next up Union Rockets this Wednesday.
