JH Girls at the Monroe Central Invite 12/8/12

The seventh grade girls basketball team won the Monroe Central Invitational on Saturday.  The girls beat Yorktown by a score of 30 to 20 to reach the championship game.  Yorktown had beat MC last Monday by three so they turned it around on Saturday to return the favor.  The Bears had to face Wilson in the final game which the girls tore up their full court press and were up 17 by halftime. The second half was  a lot like the first half and the girls went on to win with a score of 38 to 14.  Season record is 5 & 2 now!  Great job girls!!!!

The eighth grade girls basketball team faced Yorktown for the second time this season.  The girls played the best half of basketball so far this season and were only down 7 at halftime. Unfortunately the girls just couldn’t stop their inside play and the Tigers pulled away.  With the loss, the girls played Wilson in the consolation match and pulled out a victory.  It was close throughout the whole game but they held on and beat Wilson by six.  Good job girls. Record is 4 and 4 now! Next game is tonight in Hall gym against Cowan!!!
