and get an RBI after Bogue scored.  Fields then shut down the Bearcats
herself from the mound throwing the 1st 2 batters out on ground outs
and catching a pop fly.  In the bottom of the 2nd, Shaylee Stigleman
walked and eventually scoring on Katelind Phillips single to put the
Bears up 2-0.  The Bearcats struck in the top of the 3rd after Fields
hit the 1st batter and then a 2 run home run tied the score at 2.  In
the bottom of the 3rd inning, with 2 outs, the Bears struck back.
Gaddis reached on a error and eventually scorred after a double by
Morgan Engle and back to back base hits by Stigleman and Destiny Cope
putting the Bears back up 5-2.  In the bottom of the 4th with 1 out,
Bogue grabbed her 2nd hit of the night followed by hits from Rodeffer,
Fields, Gaddis, and Engle.  A walk to Stigleman and then Cope's 2nd
hit of the event, then Taylor Wyman got a single.  Bogue came up and
smashed a double for her 3rd hit of the night and 2nd hit in the
inning to put the Bears up 12-2.  In the 5th inning, the Bearcats
scored 6 runs to make the score 12-8.  In the bottom of the 5th
inning, Abby Silvers got a base hit and eventually scored on Cope's
3rd hit of the event to put the Bears up 13-8.  After the Bearcats
started threatening in the top of the 7th inning after scoring 4 runs
to make the score 13-12, the Bears went back to starting pitcher
Fields.  With runners at 1st and 3rd for the Bearcats, Seniors
Phillips and Rodeffer set up a play thinking the Bearcats would try to
steal 2nd, the Seniors decided to try to pick the runner off at 3rd.
After the pitch by Fields, with the runner trying to advance to 2nd,
Rodeffer immediately stepped in firing the ball to Phillips at 3rd
catching the runner off the base for her 3rd pick off play of the
contest and the final out of the event.

The Bears will be honoring their Seniors Thursday night at Monroe
Central when they take on the Centerville Bulldogs.
