FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monday, February 9, 2009 PRE-SEASON ALL-AMERICAN NOTCHES 1,000 CAREER POINTS Buccaneers celebrate win against conference foe 92-75 Framingham, Mass. – Entering Saturday’s contest against league rival Bunker Hill Community College (7-13), Pre-Season All-American MassBay (18-5) stretched the lead to 17 by the half. The Bulldogs of Bunker Hill were able to make a few adjustments at the half and opened the second half with a run that would bring them as close as four points. MassBay responded with a run of its own, led by Gibbons’ hot shooting (4-for-6 from downtown). Gibbons led all scorers with 31 points and 10 rebounds. In addition to Gibbons, the Buccaneers had four more players in double figures. MassBay improved its record with a second win against Roxbury Community College on Tuesday February 3, winning 95-86. The Buccaneers were led by Gibbons, who had 24 points. Mosley scored a season-high 20 points connecting on six three pointers. Young contributed 18 points and Cobb added 11 points in a winning effort. MassBay has three games remaining on its regular season schedule. They Buccaneers host Northern Essex on Tuesday, February 10 and Briarwood on Thursday, February 12 in a Senior Night celebration. The team closes out the regular season at Bristol Community College Wednesday, February 18. About MassBay Community College
