After Coal City ended up taking that game 25-27 and started game 2 with a 4-0 run, Manteno stepped up and played incredible defense helping them regain the lead. Once ahead, they never looked back dominating games 2 & 3 with scores of 25-12, 15-3. This match was a tremendous team effort. Taelor Done guided the offensive attack with 11 assists and 3 aces. Emma Hofmeister, Nora Crockett, and Taylor Gilliam also contributed to the offense with 6, 5, & 4 kills respectively. Defensive leaders were libero Jordyn Shipp with 6 digs and left side defender Aubree Mann with 4 digs.
The freshman improved their record to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play. They are on the road tonight in Wilmington as they face the host Wildcats and the Reed Custer Comets.
