Panthers Take Down Peotone

The Manteno Varsity Volleyball team played a great match last night defeating Peotone 25-19, 25-12.  Maren Wiltshire had 6 kills and 2 blocks, followed by Alexis Gilbert with 5 kills and 6 digs, Jordan Irvin with 4 kills and 4 blocks and Amber Hopf with 3 kills and 4 blocks.  Courtney Posing had 4 set assists and 4 digs while Jocelyn LeSage had 11 set assists, 9 digs and 4 service aces.  In the back court, Karli Shields and Emma Shores both contributed 9 digs.  It was a great team effort!  The Panthers are now 21 -6 on the season and 6-3 in the I-8 conference.  The team will be in action again Tuesday, Oct. 16th at home against Wilmington for Senior Night.

 

The Manteno Sophomore Volleyball team lost their first match of the season against the Peotone Blue Devils last night with scores of 13-25, 25-17, 19-25.  Haylie Riner had 5 kills and 6 digs, followed by Kori Johnson with 5 kills, and Emily Schierenbeck with 4.  Gabby Boudreau had 3 kills, 12 set assists, and 6 digs, while Jackie Beck had 9 set assists, 4 service aces and 5 digs. In the back row, Selena Schulteis contributed 7 digs and Sarah Marshall had 5.  The Sophomores record is now 15-1 on the season and 8-1 in the conference.  The Sophomore team will be in action again Tuesday, Oct. 16th at home against Wilmington.
