Panthers Defeat Dwight

The Manteno Varsity Volleyball team played a great match last night against Dwight winning 25-16, 21-25, 25-10.  Standouts were Alexis Gilbert with 10 kills and 20 digs followed by Maren Wiltshire with 9 kills and 8 digs and Amber Hopf with 6 kills and 6 blocks.  Jocelyn LeSage had 15 set assists and 11 digs and Courtney Posing had 14 set assists and 8 digs.  In the back court, Karli Shields had 26 digs followed by Emma Shores with 14.  It was a great team effort!  The Panthers improve their season record to 19-6 and 4-3 in the I-8 conference.  The team will play again next Tuesday at home against Reed-Custer.

The Manteno Sophomore volleyball team also won last night against Dwight 25-16, 25-15.  Haylie Riner had 5 kills and 12 digs, followed by Leegan Boudreau with 5 kills and Kori Johnson and Emily Schierenbeck with 4 kills each. Ashtyn Rees had 18 set assists and Sarah Marshall had 10 digs in the back row.  The team is now 14-0 on the season 7-0 in the I-8 conference.  The Sophomores will be in action again next Tuesday at home against Reed-Custer.
