Panthers Defeat Reed-Custer

The Manteno Varsity Volleyball team came out strong last night defeating Reed - Custer with scores of 25-22, 25-17.  Alexis Gilbert led the team in kills with 10, followed by Jaylan Dunn with 6.  Jocelyn Lesage had 14 set assists and 5 digs while Courtney Posing contributed 4 set assists. In the back court, Karli Shields had 7 digs followed by Alyssa Snodsmith with 5 digs and Emma Shores with 3 digs and 3 service aces.  The Panthers are now 14-2 overall and 2-1 in the I – 8 conference and will play at home on Thursday night against Peotone.

The Manteno Sophomore Volleyball team won against the Reed Custer Comets last night by scores of 25-8, 25-18.  Standouts for the Sophomores include Leegan Boudreau with 5 kills followed by Sarah Marshall and Kori Johnson with 3 each.  Ashtyn Rees had 11 set assists while Haylie Riner contributed 10 digs and 3 service aces and Selena Schulteis had 5 digs.  The Sophomore team improved their record to 6-0 for the season and 3-0 in the conference.  They will be in action again Thursday night at home against Peotone.
