Home » Volleyball NewsPanthers Defeat DwightSeptember 6, 2012 By Cheryl Davis of Manteno High SchoolThe Manteno Varsity Volleyball team defeated Dwight last night 25-16, 25-14. Standouts were Amber Hopf with 7 kills, followed by Maren Wiltshire with 6 and Morgan Murray with 3 kills. Courtney Posing had 11 set assists and 4 digs and Jocelyn LeSage had 4 set assists and 6 digs. In the back court, Karli Shields had 15 digs followed by Alyssa Snodsmith with 7. The Panthers are now 8-2 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. The team will play this Sat. against some tough competition in the Seneca Varsity Tournament.
The Manteno Sophomore Volleyball team won last night against Dwight 25-18, 25-19. Haylie Riner led the team with 9 kills and 14 digs followed by Madison Langlois with 4 kills and 8 digs and Sarah Marshall with 4 kills. Ashtyn Rees had 9 set assists and 7 digs while Jackie Beck had 8 set assists and Selena Schulteis contributed 11 digs. The Sophomores are now 5-0 on the season and 2-0 in the conference. The Sophomores will be in action again next Tuesday at Reed-Custer.
