Girls • Assumption 51, Butler 48: Nora Kiesler grabbed a rebound, converted a putback and free throw with less than a minute left to lift the visiting Rockets (7-5) to an upset win over the No. 10 Bearettes (10-4). Assumption, unranked in the Litratings, trailed 38-32 after three quarters before mounting the late comeback. Kiesler, Brandy Hunter and Morgan Foley each scored 11 points for the Rockets. Aareon Smith led a balanced Butler attack with 11 points. • Ballard 73, North Bullitt 43: Maddie Martin notched a game-high 17 points and Dre’a Matchen added 14 as the visiting Bruins (10-3) caged the Eagles (10-5). Savannah Morrison paced North Bullitt with 12 points. • Christian Academy 47, Central 38: China Dow scored 19 points for the visiting Centurions (12-7). Jarea Brice had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Yellowjackets (6-8). • Holy Cross 41, Eastern 35: Senior Kim Mingus led all scorers with 13 points, and the Cougars (11-3) downed the visiting Eagles (7-9). Josie Hockman scored all nine of her points in the first quarter as Holy Cross raced out to a 14-6 lead. Sophomore Maddie Hoffman led Eastern with 11 points. • PRP 59, Boyd County 53: Sophomore center Rayben Shead dominated the court, scoring 26 points to lead the Panthers (8-10) past the Lions (8-5) in the Ashland Kitten Classic at Ashland Blazer High School. Kelsey Adwell added 15 points and 11 assists for PRP. Taylor Wheeler scored 17 points to lead Boyd County. • Whitefield Academy 43, Western Hills 42: Junior Rachel Hudson didn’t score for Whitefield but played an integral role with 10 rebounds and seven blocked shots at the Wildcats (4-10) held off the Wolverines (5-11). • Valley 78, Brown 35: Monae Crowe tallied 22 points, Cierra Reed chipped in 20 and Aly McGuire had 19 as the host Vikings (8-8) ambushed the Bears (3-7). Amari Miles paced Brown with 19. • Beechwood 59, Presentation 55: Macy Stuempel scored 16 points to lead the host Tigers (9-6) past the Toppers (8-8). Shelby Adams scored 16 points along with nine rebounds while Bailey Reeder scored 16 points to lead Presentation. • Portland Christian 48, Heritage Christian 29: Abbie Scroggey had nine steals and a game-high 16 points to lead host Portland (3-11) over Heritage Christian. Daija Anderson chipped in 15 for the winners. Mariah Cain paced Heritage with 7 points. Late Friday: • Doss 42, Fairdale 28: Euzane Williams scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Lady Dragons (1-9) past the Lady Bulldogs (3-5). Senior guard Tyrese Davis did not score but contributed six steals for Doss. Sam Cleaver led Fairdale with 12 points.
