Eagles Plan to Play Tough
November 9, 2012Madison Southern High School
Tonight the Madison Southern football team will travel to Harlan for a second rounc matchup in the state playoffs. After winning the school's first playoff game since 2005 last week, the Eagles will be on the road against Harlan tonight. Coach Jon Clark and the Eagles know this will be one of the toughest matchups the Eagles have had all season.
Harlan is 9-2 and comes into the matchup undefeated in district and region play. Harlan has a very impressive offense, but so do the Eagles. "They're physical, but we think we're going to be able to take advantage of our quickness," Clark said about the matchup. Standout sophomore running back Damien Harris will be a game time decision after sitting out last week's game. Even without Harris, the Eagles were able to score 37 points and rush for over 200 yards behind seniors Adam Simpson, Wes Proctor, and Coty Russell. "If he [Harris] can't play, we feel like we can still do what it takes to win," said Simpson about the team's effort last week.
"We feel confident and we know this is a big opportunity," said Clark about the game tonight. Kickoff will be at 7:30 and the game will be broadcast on WKXO 1500AM.
