Eagles Blast South Laurel

The Madison Southern football team wanted to make a statement when they played South Laurel Friday night. After a 56-0 win, the statement was made loud and clear they will be a tough team to beat when the playoffs start next week. The win moved the Eagles to 6-3 on the season and secured a home playoff game against Perry County Central.
Sophomore Damien Harris added to his school record for touchdowns in a season by scoring two more Friday night and senior Wes Proctor added a pair of TD runs as well. Senior Coty Russell added a 60-yard touchdown run, junior Buddy Harrison ran one in from 71-yards, and senior QB Adam Simpson rushed for a score too. Harris is closing in on 2,000 yards rushing for the season and has scored 36 touchdowns as well.
"It feels great to get a big win like this, especially with so many people making positive contributions and playing well," said head coach Jon Clark of the team's win.
The Eagles will be in action Friday night in Lancaster as they face Garrard County in the regular season finale.
