Home » Girls' Soccer NewsLady Eagles Going for Three-peatOctober 11, 2012 Madison Southern High SchoolAfter an impressive offensive performance against Berea in the first round of the district tournament Monday night, the Lady Eagles soccer team is preparing to go for their third district championship in a row tonight at 6:00pm against Madison Central. When asked about the team's impressive performance against Berea, head coach Katy Cress said, "Coming off a loss to Lexington Catholic, I feel that my players were used to such instense pressure and then they didn't have it against Berea. I felt like we were very relaxed and that allowed us to be able to dominate offensively and get a 10-0 mercy rule win." Now, the Lady Eagles look to avenge a regular season loss against Central tonight when the two teams meet in Richmond. Cress hopes their is some recent supernatural history on her side. "There is a curse in our district," Cress said. "Whoever wins the regular season game between Southern-Central has usually lost when they meet in districts, but we broke the curse last year. Hopefully it's back this year since they beat us in the regular season." Cress said she feels good about tonight's game and believes her players will give a strong effort. To end the interview, she said, "We know what to expect and have grown as a team since they last played them - ROLL TIDE!"
