Home » Track & Field NewsTrack Teams Finish Strong at Home MeetApril 11, 2012 Madison Southern High SchoolMadison Southern's track team has gotten used to traveling the past few years, but that changed last night. The Eagles hosted the first track meet at Madison Southern in six years and put in a strong performance. Both the boys' and girls' teams finished second overall for the event, which included Madison Central, Lexington Christian, Model, Estill County, and Berea Community. The Eagles performed very strongly in the individual events. For the boys', Damien Harris won the 100 and 200 yard dashes, Casey Dionne won the 110-meter hurdles, and Caleb Dunbar finished first in the high jump. Other strong performances were Jeremy Bailey who finished 3rd in the 100-yard dash, Spencer Schmitt who came in 2nd in the 200 yard dash, Clayton Barnes finished 2nd in the discuss, Matt Lake came in 3rd for the discuss, and Mike Rothermel finished 3rd in the 400-yard dash and 2nd in long jump. On the girls' side, McKenzie Bicknell won both the 100 and 200 yard dashes, Jessica Scribano won the 300-hurdles, and Kate Freel won the high jump. Scribano also finished 2nd in the 100-hurdles. Lydia Sharp finished 3rd in the high jump.
