Eagles Pick Up Big Win Over Wolverines
February 11, 2012Madison Southern High School
Friday night, the Madison Southern Eagles picked up one of their most lopsided wins of the season with a 73-51 over Western Hills. The game started well for the visiting Wolverines as they took an early lead, but as the Eagle offense heated up the game quickly turned in favor of the Eagles. Brandon McGuire hit a three point shot from just inside half court as the horn for the first half sounded and the Eagles went into the locker room with a 32-25 lead. Western Hills would never get any closer.
In the second half, the swarming Eagles' defense finally seemed to wear down the Wolverines, who were never able to cut the lead to less than nine. The strong play of Tyler Abshear, who was able to drive into the lane over and over, led the Eagles to their eighth victory of the season.
Asbhear finished the game with 29 points, Chris Roberts added 13, Damien Harris and Michael Rothermel chipped in 8 a piece, McGuire had 5, Chance Norris scored 4, and Jake Napier, Drew Taylor, and Marlin Taylor each scored 2.
