Home » Women's Basketball News1 vs. 2 Showdown: Lake Worth Suffers First LossJanuary 17, 2013 Lake Worth Community High SchoolThe girls' basketball team suffered their first loss Wednesday night as they took on number 1 ranked Dwyer in a tough game at home. The Lake Worth girls' played hard but the depth of Dwyer ended up being the difference as they out rebounded the Lake Worth girls' in the offensive zone that was the difference. The final score was 75-69, as Dwyer was forced to hold the ball and run out the clock toward the end of the game, something they have not had to do all year. Storm Bureau led the team with 21 points and Jonika Garvin added 19 points, but it was not enough. The Trojans did force more turnovers, but the difference was the rebounding and the big girls' of Dwyer proved to be the difference. The Trojans are 16-1 now on the season and Dwyer improved to 17-4.
