Home » Football NewsMuch Needed Bye WeekOctober 4, 2012 Lake Worth Community High SchoolThe Trojans had a much needed bye week last week after a frustrating 0-4 start to their season. Realistically the Trojans should have 1 or 2 wins at least until this point if they were able to finish and close out games. They started the season dropping a close game to Olympic Heights in which they had a chance to win the game in the 4th quarter. Then they traveled to Palm Beach Central and played a great half to start the game and had all the momentum but let it fall away in the second half with too many turnovers. The West Boca debacle hurts. They were up by 23 points in the second half and managed to fumble the game away, literally. Then they did not come out ready to go against the Lancers of John I. scripting out their 0-4 start. With some banged up bodies the Trojans hope that the time off will heal the wounds and they can turn the season around tomorrow night as they travel to Santaluces High to play their second district game. Although there is not a win to talk about in their first 4 games, there are some good things to take away from the first 4 games of the season from the young Trojans. Sophomore quarterback, Luis Peguero, has done fairly well in his first 4 Friday Night games as he had compiled over 700 yards passing and 10 touchdowns to be in the top 5 in Palm Beach County. The senior duo of receivers in Jermer Braswell and Richard Seraphin has put together a total of 7 touchdowns on the year. Sophomore wide receiver, James Jones, has 3 touchdowns in 4 games. The Trojan defense was able to score two touchdowns this year off of an interception and fumble. The Trojans have had some highlights, but hopefully they turn into complete games and they start finishing better so they can get some wins under their belt. They look to turn their season around tomorrow night at Santaluces.
