The larks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning off a bases clearing two RBI double from Tyler Maher scoring Brandon Scanlon and Eric Schutte. They would add another run in the second. Luke Steinbach started the inning with a double and Reid Pawelk would move him over to third on a groundout. Herb Koch Jr. reached base on catcher's interference and Brandon Scanlon would score Steinbach after beating out a groundball double play ball up the middle. Starting pitcher Adam McGrane would go five innings giving up three hits and striking out six, He would get himself out of jams in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings with strikeouts to end the innings with runners in scoring position. McGrane allowed the first two batters to reach base in the sixth and draftee Eric Hanson from Dassel would come in. After a wild pitch to move the runners up to second and third with no outs, he would get out of the jam and retire the next three batters. Loretto would add another run in the seventh off a Ryan Schaust RBI single to score Kent Koch and another run in the eight on a hustle play from Brandon Scanlon scoring from second base on an infield single from Kent Koch. Eric Hanson would get the save going four innings giving up no runs on two hits and striking out seven. Wilmont would commit six errors on the night. Kent Koch, Tyler Maher, Ryan Schaust, and Josh Hanson would each have two hits in the game. BOX SCORE Next up Loretto play Milroy August 25th @ 2pm at Faber field in St. Cloud.
