Delano 6 Loretto 5

Loretto (2,4,1-3) drops its third game in a row in a 6-5 loss to Delano in 10 innings.  Both teams scored in the first inning for a 1-1 tie till the 5th inning.  Delano would hit three homeruns off starter Troy Beckman for the 5-1 lead.  Ryan Tapani would relief Beckman.  The larks would score two runs in the sixth on two hits.  Eric Schutte led off the inning with a single and Tyler Maher would double to left center.  Schutte scored on a fielders choice from Reid Pawelk.  Ryan Schaust RBi single scored Maher.  Loretto tied the game up in the eighth with two runs of three hits.  Brandon Scanlon started the inning with a double and eventually scored from second when Delano failed to turn a double play off the bat of Tyler Maher.  Reed Pawelk would get the RBI single scoring Kent Koch who reached on base with a walk.  Game would remain scoreless till the tenth when both teams would get gift runs.  Nathan Maher scored the go ahead run when he stole third base and the throw from the catcher sailed into left field.  Delano would win the game in the bottom half of the tenth from a misplayed line drive to right field.  Ball went all the way to the fence and both runners scored for the 6-5 win for Delano.  Ryan Tapani gets the loss in his Larks debut on the mound.


Next up Loretto hosts Maple Plain on Sunday.  Game time is 2pm
