Lady Lions vs Columbus Jct. - October 4, 2011

F/S - 11-21, 20-22 The Fresh Soph girls had an exciting game against Columbus last night but were unable to come out on top. The girls had great communication and energy during the matches. Kennedi Warson led with 3 kills. Nattie Attig and Sarah Rundlett had 2 kills each. Darrian Spilman and Liz Griffin did a great job setting and serving both with 2 assists and 3 aces. Mallori Chamberlain did a great job being ready for anything at the net. Alex Comer was great at the net and did good serving with 2 aces. Bridget Furhmeister was a great team leader on the court. J/V - 18-21, 16-21 The J/V girls had yet another close and exciting game against Columbus at home last night. Dezi Martinez did an excellent job serving with an impressive 5 aces. Katy Ruth did a great job at the net with one kill and 2 assists. Makenzie Reynolds brought a lot of energy to the court and had a great night serving. Lauren Volk and Bobbie Wyatt did an excellent job at middle with 3 attacks each. Bridget Furhmeister had a good night setting and Carson Gibson led in digs with 3. Varsity - 18-25, 25-9, 25-7, 24-26, 13-15 The Varsity girls had an amazing game against Columbus last night. They really put on a show throughout the five matches. The girls passed and served great which allowed for the setters to set up the hitters. It was a nail bitting game and the Lady Lions did not come out on top with an exciting final match. Maddie Flemr and Jenny Jones did great attacking with 15 and 14 kills each. Karley Hester and Avery Edwards had wonderful passes to work with which allowed them to have 16 and 14 assists each. Abbie Schmidt, Elyssa Mills, and Erin Lathrop also had great games racking up their most impressive stats to date. Maggie Schmidt had a great night serve receiving and also had 12 digs. The girls displayed great team chemistry and communication.
