February 23, 2013 vs Dunkerton - Sub State

Saturday Lone Tree played the Raiders from Dunkerton with the winner advancing to the State Tournament.  The Lions started strong and fast and led 24-11 at the end of th first.  Dunkerton responded in the second out-scoring the Lions 18-17 cutting the halftime lead to 12 at 41-29. The Lions opened it up in the third with a run and led 61-41, Lone Tree used ball control and got to the free-throw line as they advance to the State Tournament with a 68-55 win.

How proud I am of these guys, both games they followed the game plan to the letter, no group deserves a State Tournament berth more than these guys.  They have worked so many hours both during the season and in the off-season to make this happen.  We had great community support both Friday and Saturday nights which really kept us energized.  This team was on a mission and played with a great deal of intensity.  ON TO STATE.
