Home » Boys' Basketball NewsFebruary 8, 2013 vs Danville - SEISC Shoot-outFebruary 12, 2013 Lone Tree Community SchoolFebruary 8, 2013 vs Danville - SEISC Shoot-Out Friday the Lions traveled to Mid-Prairie to face the Bears from Danville in the Conference shoot-out. Lone Tree jumped out 5-2 early but it was all Bears from then on. Danville held the Lions to just 5 points in the 1st quarter and scored 15, and it did not get any better fror Lone Tree as they fell behind 35-12 at the half. The Lions picked it up in the second half but the deficit was too much as the number one Bears win 64-41, ending the Lions win streak at 21. We turned the ball over too many times early, I thought there half-court defense was superb, it was something I as a coach was not prepared for and had not seen in a long time. We really got impatient when we fell behind and tried to catch up from the 3 point line and did not shoot it well at all. I give Danville a lot of credit they have an excellent basketball team. We need to develop tunnel vision now and refocus on the District Tournaments. Scoring for the Lions-Bryan Forbes 13, Logan Forbes 12, Riley Stump 9, Trenton Gosnell and Gabe Lorack with 3 each, and Lucas Sieverding with 1. Rebounding-Bryan 7, Logan and Lucas with 4 each The Lions matched up against Danville in the SEISC shootout for the last game of the season. Unfortunately, the JV team would come up short in a second half rally and fall to Danville 34-45. The Lion’s trailed by just 2 points with 2 minutes left in the 4th quarter but were not able to get the tying or go ahead basket. With the loss the JV team finished 18-2 on the season. Scoring for the Lions: Jared Hudson 5, Ty Schillerstrom 7, Thomas Viner 7, Travis Gillham 7, Matt Wieland 8.
