Home » Boys' Basketball NewsJanuary 18, 2013 vs MediapolisJanuary 24, 2013 Lone Tree Community SchoolJanuary 18, 2013 vs Mediapolis Friday night the Lone Tree Lions played Mediapolis in a battle of upper-division teams. Once again the Lions came out strong hitting 10 out of their first 12 shots and taking a 27-15 lead. Lone Tree stayed hot on the offensive end and led 49-26 at the half. The third quarter was a little more even but the Lions still led 66-40. The Lions went on to win 78-58. I really thought we came out of the gates very focused, we had a lot on the line as we were playing for the number 1 seed in the Districts, as well as meeting our goal to go undefeated at home. The 4th quarter I thought we lost a little intensity and gave up too many offensive rebounds. On an unrelated side note-I was really impressed with the crowds singing of the National Anthem before the girls game when the sound system had difficulty, you rarely see that anymore where opposing schools sing the anthem together. Scoring for Lone Tree-Bryan Forbes 27, Gabe Lorack 15, Andy Dodson 10, Jordan Quigley 8, Shay Hudachek 6, Lucas Sieverding 6, Logan Forbes 4, and Trenton Gosnell with 2. Rebounding-Gabe 10, Bryan 8, Trenton 6 and Lucas 5Assists-Bryan 6 and Trenton and Gabe with 3 After defeating the Mediapolis JV team by three points in overtime during their first meeting, the rematch would not be as dramatic. The Lions remained undefeated by winning 53-34 on their home court. Scoring for the Lions: Jared Hudson 4, Ty Schillerstrom 2, Thomas Viner 20, Nick Viner 10, Travis Gillham 12, and Matt Wieland 5.
