January 15, 2013 vs Wapello

The Lions returned home Tuesday night after spending the last two games on the road.  Lone Tree played Wapello on Tuesday night to try and extend their home winning streak.  Once again the team opened strong and led 28-9 at the end of the first.  Lone Tree continued to shoot the ball welll as they were ahead 50-21 at the half.  The Lion defense played well and the Lone Tree fast break hurt the Indians as they go on to win 82-47.

I really thought we came to play with a purpose, I really think we learned a lot from the Pekin game to not overlook anybody on any night.  We started strong once again and never let Wapello back in the game.  I was really plaesed with our defensive effort all the way around.

The JV team improved to 12-0 on the season with a 64-34 victory over Wapello.  The Lions were up 28-16 at the half before pulling away in the second half with some timely shooting.  Scoring for the Lions: Drew Sides 5, Jared Hudson 2, Ty Schillerstrom 11, Thomas Viner 18, Nick Viner 5, Travis Gillham 2, Caleb Christian 3, Matt Wieland 18.
