Home » Boys' Basketball NewsJanuary 8, 2013 @ PekinJanuary 10, 2013 Lone Tree Community SchoolTuesday the Lions traveled to Pekin for their first road test after the holiday break. Lone Tree took control early leading 32-18 at the end of the 1st. The second quarter foul trouble and defensive break downs hurt the Lions as Pekin trailed by only 6, 46-40 at the half. Lone Tree opened the 3rd on a 10-0 run taking a 16 point lead, the Panthers stormed back in the 4th and held a 1 point lead with 3 minutes in the game. Lone Tree hit some key shots down the stretch and were able to escape with the win 71-69. We made some poor decisions on the offensive end at times, we have to look at time and score a bit more. Defensively we did not guard very well, some bad defensive habits which we have developed the last couple of games hurt us Tuesday. We will have to clean some things up by Friday at IMS. Scoring for Lone Tree-Bryan Forbes 27, Logan Forbes 10, Trenton Gosnell 8, Gabe Lorack 7, Andy Dodson 6, Jordan Quigley 4, Lucas Sieverding 4, Shay Hudachek 3, and Riley Stumpf 2. Rebounding-Bryan 7, Trenton 5 and Gabe 4. Assists-Bryan 6 and Logan 4 The Lions defeated Pekin 52-30 to improve to 10-0 on the season. The JV team began the game with a strong defensive effort and got the offense going in the second half to pull away for the victory. Scoring for the Lions: Jared Hudson 5, Ty Schillerstrom 16, Thomas Viner 11, Nick Viner 9, Travis Gillham 2, and Matt Wieland 9.
