Home » Boys' Basketball NewsFebruary 23, 2012 - IMS - District FinalsFebruary 27, 2012 Lone Tree Community SchoolFebruary 23, 2012 - vs IMS - District Finals The Lone Tree Lions' basketball season came to an end Thursday night at Mid-Prairie at the hands of IMS. The Lions shot 27 percent from the field and turned the ball over 26 times as they lose 59-36. Lone Tree opened up the first quarter only trailing by 5 at 17-12, but the 2nd and third quarters doomed the Lions as they could only score 9 points combined in both quarters, the free throw line, which has been fairly kind to Lone Tree all season also hurt the Lions cause they went 9-17 from the line as well. This loss hurt a lot, we played well on the defensive end but could not get anything to fall. I thought our effort was there but it was not meant to be. We had a great year, we won a conference championship and played well through out the season, this last game is no measure of what kind of team we had. A big thanks to our seniors, Tyler Gosnell, Max Larew, Connor Larew and Kyle Gardner, these are quality young men who worked very hard for 4 years and were instrumental in getting us to this level and the kind of season we had. Their intensity and work ethic will be missed next season. A big thank you to our fans as well, your support through out the season was fantastic. Scoring for the Lions-Tyler Gosnell 10, Bryan Forbes 9, Gabe Lorack 5, Andy Dodson and Max Larew 4, and Lucas Sieverding with 3. Rebounding-Bryan 7, Max and Gabe with 3 each
