January 10, 2012 - vs Highland

January 12, 2012
Lone Tree Community School

The Lone Tree boys started round two of the conference schedule as they played the Highland Huskies. Lone Tree opened the first quarter with an 8 point lead 16-8.  The second quarter the Lion defense kicked in as they opened a 20 point lead at the half 42-22.  The third quarter was much the same as Lone Tree went up by 23, 66-23.  The fourth quarter the Lions lost some intensity as they were outscored 19-10, but still go on to win 76-62. I thought we really lost focus in the 4th quarter, our defensive intensity was just not there, we have to hang our hat on our defensive play and we just did not do that.  Offensively we played very well as a team and I was happy on that part of the game, but we can not have defensive lapses like we did Tuesday night.

Scoring for the Lions-Bryan Forbes 13, Gabe Lorack 12, Connor Larew 12, Max  Larew 10, Tyler Gosnell 7, Jordan Quigley 5 , Andy Dodson 5 and Lucas Sieverding with 2.

Rebounding-Max 10, Logan and Bryan with 7 each.  Bryan also had 10 steal and 10 assists

The Lions JV got back in the win column by defeating Highland 53-26 on Tuesday night.  After a sluggish start and leading 19-13 at the half, the Lions went on a 18-2 run during the 3rd quarter.  The win improves the JV record to 9-1 on the season.

Scoring for the Lions: Shay Hudachek 2, Thomas Viner 7, Nick Viner 10, Travis Gillham 10, Ty Schillerstrom 4, Trenton Gosnell 5, Jacob Quigley 2, Chris Ford 4, Levi Saterfield 7, and Matt Wieland 2.
