Pat is in his twelfth year of coaching, having spent his first ten at Center Grove High School, where he was a lead assistant football coach, middle school wrestling coach, and high school track coach.  While he was at Center Grove, the Trojans captured the 2008 5A IHSAA State Title, along with several MIC and other post-season titles. For the past two seasons, he was the head coach at Knightstown High School, where he compiled a 14-8 record, and more than doubled the number of students participating in the program. He also served as the head track coach for the Panthers.

Mallory is originally from the east side if Indianapolis, having attended Mt. Vernon High School, playing for longtime coach Doug Peacock. From there he attended Indiana University where he was a preferred walk-on, eventually earning scholarship status for his final three years.

He and his wife, Nora, have an eight year-old daughter, and two boys, ages six and four.
