PANTHERS drop hard fought sectional game in season finale

May 26, 2011
Lakeville North Lacrosse - Girls

The PANTHER girls varsity lacrosse squad ended its season this evening with a 9-8 loss to the Eagan/Rosemont Co-op team 9-8, in sectional quaterfinal action at Lakeville North High School.  The low scoring affair saw that PANTHERS take a slim halftime lead into the locker room, 3-2.

The PANTHERS came out strong in the second half, eventually holding a 3 goal lead with just five minutes left to play.  The Eagan/Rosemont team did not quit though, and ended up scoring 4 unanswered goals to take the lead with just 18 seconds left on the game clock, and were able to hold the ball for the remainder of the game.

The PANTHERS end the 2011 season with an overall record of 9-6, having played one of the most rigorous schedules of any team in the state.  With a fairly young team, and only two graduating seniors, the PANTHERS look forward to the 2012 campaign.
