Panthers Win Their Opener

The Lakeville North Panthers opened up their South Suburban Conference schedule with a win against Eagan at home Wednesday, 7-0. Six Panther hitters had hits, with Jess Meidl going 2-4 from the leadoff spot in the order. Erika Rozelle hit the first home run of the season, a two-run shot in the second inning. Meidl, Katie Parker, and Tera McKinney also had RBIs.
Micheala Zins pitched the first six innings of the game, shutting out Eagan. Zins gave up one hit, with three walks and six strikeouts. Maggie Dunnett finished up in the circle in the seventh inning, completing the shutout, giving up one hit and striking out one.
The line for the Panthers: seven runs, three of them earned, on seven hits, one walk, and one strikeout. The Panthers stole two bases and turned a double-play. Eagan had no runs, two hits, one walk, and seven strikeouts. The Wildcats had four wild pitches and three errors.
The Panthers will go to the Wisconsin Dells Invitational this coming weekend.
