Home » Boys' Basketball NewsLISLE BOYS VARSITY DROPS CLOSE GAME TO HERSCHERFebruary 9, 2010 Lisle High SchoolThe Lisle boys varsity basketball team faced a tall task Friday night when a 19-1 Herscher team came to town. The Lions answered the call early on, but could not finish down the stretch and Herscher escaped with a 51-47 win. The two teams swapped leads early on and the Lions entered the half trailing 22-18. In the second half, the Lions jumped out to a 7 point lead late in the 3rd quarter. However, Herscher would respond and hit some crucial free throws to seal the victory. The Lions were led offensively by Marcus Wilson, who had 16 points and 9 rebounds. Senior Ryan Liss added 12 points. Once again, struggles from the free throw stripe continue to plague the Lions, hitting only 3 of 10 on the night. The Lions travel to Plano next Tuesday for another critical I-8 match-up.
