LHS Track and Field begins tomorrow! 2/25 @ 3:40

February 24, 2013
By Charlotte Richardson of Lincoln High School

Dear Team,

The first official day of LHS Track and Field is tomorrow, February 25th at 3:40!  We will be in the cafeteria and we will meet there before practice begins.

Some reminders -

All athletes must have a physical or physical update form turned in to the Athletic Office, or ready to hand in to Coach Parry tomorrow when you arrive.

All athletes must have a blue card filled out for the Track and Field 2013 season.  Even if you have handed in a blue card to another team, we need to have one separately filled out for track and field.

If you do not have a current physical go to www.ihigh.com > Lincoln HS page > Look on the left margin and you will see both a physical and physical update form to print out.  A blue card can be obtained in the Athletic Office.

In the next few weeks you will need to turn in Code of Conduct and a check for "pay to play".  We will talk more about that tomorrow and at the Parent Meeting on Thursday, 2/28 @ 7 pm.

DO come to the meeting tomorrow even if you do not have all forms so you will at least be a part of the team and know what is going on. But without your blue card or physical you will not be allowed to go outside and work out with the team until completed.

TO BRING TO TRACK EACH DAY - Preferably in a gym bag

Workout gear including comfortable shorts, top, running shoes

Warm clothing including rain gear, gloves, hat, sweat shirt, and pants  (Nothing needs to be fancy or technical - just be prepared for weather)

Proper running shoes for training (if not able to afford please talk with coaches)

Water bottle

A snack for after practice (something like a bagel, chocolate milk, sports bar, gatorade, etc.)

Any medications (such as an inhaler) that might be needed

A willingness to learn and train

A positive attitude

Respect for your teammates, your team, and your coaches

In addition, begin tomorrow and every day to eat a good breakfast and lunch, and a snack before practice. Drink lots of water during the day so you will be ready to train.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!! Be ready to have fun, work hard, and be a part of the LHS track and field family.

Yours in Track and Field

Coach Charlotte Richardson

and all the Lincoln HS Track and Field Coaches
