Moeller Primetime Invitational Cross Country Meet

July 8, 2011
Cincinnati Moeller High School

The Moeller Primetime Invitational Cross Country Meet will be held Friday, Aug. 26 at the Kings Island Golf Center - Bruin Course.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. with the junior high competition. The varsity girls' competition is at 9 p.m., while the varsity boys' meet is at 9:30 p.m.

As of Tuesday, 15 schools have committed to the event, including 11 male teams and 13 female teams, according to Moeller assistant coach Charlie Lytle.

Lytle credited the Golf Center for allowing the runners to compete on the golf course and also the Warren County Visitors Bureau for helping to organize the event.

The meet contains two out-of-area schools - Sandusky and Eaton - which will spend the night in the area and go to Kings Island for a team-building event.  "This helps out the local economy as well," Lytle said.

Lytle said the golf course will contain effective footing for the runners and good viewing for spectators.

"Teams are very excited," Lytle said. "Our guys are really jacked not only to run at night, but run on the sure footing that a golf course can provide. Other coaches are always looking for something different to try and give the kids a good course to run on."
