Weekend Update for Cross Country
It was a good day for the Moeller Cross Country team where they competed in the Midwest Catholic Championship in Kettering, Ohio on September 21st, 2013 with the team finishing 6th place (out of 20 teams), including a runner-up finish in the Gold Division. The top finisher for Moeller was junior Mitch Poch with an 18th place finish in 17:31 (out of 174 runners). Also running varsity this week were Drew Denoyer, Matt DeWine, Brendan Mulvaney, Steven Johnston, Nicholas Mendel, Jacob Menke, Jacob Weisgerber, Doug Girard, and Eddy Pappalardo.
The JV squad captured 1st place (out of 11 teams) and now have a 94-8 record thus far on the season. Freshman Andrew Luers was Moeller’s top finisher in this race with a 2nd place finish in 18:34 (out of 125 runners) just missing first place by a mere second. Also scoring in this race were Jake Tomley, Nic Junker, Connor Peed, and Josh Jones.

Up next, the Varsity and JV-A squads will travel to Rochester, New York to compete in the 49th Annual McQuaid Invitational, considered to be one of the largest scholastic meets in the USA drawing teams from 5 different states and two Canadian provinces. The JV-B squad will compete in the St. Xavier Invitational at St. Xavier High School. Both meets will be contested on September 28th, 2013.
