Moeller Athletics - Winter Signing Ceremony

We are pleased to announce the latest signing class of Moeller Athletes.  The Winter Signing Ceremony will take place Wednesday, February 6 at 3pm in the Moeller Library.  If you can not attend the ceremony will be broadcast live by ESP Media on the LetsGoBigMoe Network.

BLAKE CHAMBLISS has committed to Robert Morris University where he will play football for Coach John Banaszak.  Chambliss was an offensive lineman for the Crusaders and will continue at that position at Robert Morris University.  Blake is a four-year football player and a member of the 2012 OHSAA Ohio State Championship Football Team.  He received the honor of being named All-GCL.  Blake was also a member of the 2010 State Championship Rugby Team.  He carries a 3.0 GPA and has maintained honor roll status.  Blake is the son of Mike and Sally Chambliss of West Chester.

ALEX GALL has committed to the University of Miami in Florida where he will play football for Coach Al Golden.  He will continue his position of offensive lineman.  Gall was a co-captain and member of the 2012 OHSAA Ohio State Championship Football Team.  He is a four-year member of the football team, playing three years as a varsity starter.  Gall was named First Team All-GCL (2011 and 2012), First Team All-Tri-State (2011 and 2012), and 2012 Anthony Munoz Offensive Lineman of the Year. He carries a 3.4 GPA.  Alex is the son of Charlie and Kathy Gall of Mason.

CHRIS HENKE will continue playing center for Coach Eric Hehman at Malone University.  Henke a four-year member of the Moeller Football program was a starting member of the 2012 OHSAA Ohio State Championship Football Team.  Henke was named First-Team All-GCL and Cincinnati Enquirer All-Team.  Henke currently participates in Little Buddies for Corryville Catholic, football summer camp counselor and will be coaching in the Orange and White Flag Football fundraising games.  He carries a 3.5 GPA and had maintained honor roll status.  Chris is the son of Bill and Amy Henke of Blue Ash.

EVAN JANSEN will continue his football career as a tight end at Indiana University, under the direction of Coach Kevin Wilson. Jansen was a four-year member of the Moeller Football program, playing three years at the varsity level, and was a member of the 2012 OHSAA Ohio State Championship Football Team.  Jansen also played basketball for two years and currently participates in Little Buddies.  He carries a 3.57 GPA and has maintained honor roll status for four years.  Evan is the son of Norbert and Karen Jansen of Mason.

SHANE JONES, a three year starter for the Crusaders at linebacker will continue under the direction of Coach Mark Dantonio at Michigan State.  Jones was a co-captain of the 2012 OHSAA Ohio State Championship Football Team.  Jones as a junior received Second-Team All-GCL and as a senior received First-Team All-GCL and 2012 AP Defensive Player of the Year.  Jones currently participates in Little Buddies for Corryville Catholic and is a football summer camp counselor.  Shane maintains a 3.2 GPA.  Shane is the son of Shawn Jones and Antonia Jones of Bond Hill.

LOGAN KELLEHER, a two-year starter at defensive back for the Crusaders, will continue his football career at Robert Morris University.  Kelleher will play under the direction of Coach John Banaszak at the position of free safety.  Kelleher was a member of the 2012 OHSAA Ohio State Championship Football Team and was named First Team All-GCL, Second Team All-District, Second Team All-Tri-State, and Honorable Mention All-State. Logan has maintained second honors and carries a 3.4 GPA.  Logan is the son of Jim and Cheryle Kelleher of Loveland.

CHRIS KESSLING, a four-year defensive back for the Crusaders will continue at that position at the University of Chicago under the direction of Coach Dick Maloney.  Kessling a member of the 2012 OHSAA Ohio State Championship Football Team was names GCL Academic All-Star and is a member of the Moeller Ironman for weight lifting.  Kessling is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and Class of 2013 Valedictorian.  Kessling was a member of the study abroad in England/Scotland for English and attended the service mission trip to Appalachia, West Virginia.  Chris maintains 4.0 GPA and first honors every quarter.  Chris is the son of Ben Kessling and Adrienne Kessling of Montgomery.

MATT NOBLE will continue his football career at Tiffin University.  Noble played left tackle for the Crusaders.  Matt was a member of the 2012 OHSAA Ohio State Championship Football Team and was named Second Team All-GCL.  Noble was a four-year member of the football program, three-year varsity player, and two-year starter.  He has maintained honor roll for three years and carries a 3.4 GPA.  Matt is the son of James and Kristen Noble of West Clermont.

KALEB NYPAVER will follow in his father’s footsteps and attend the United States Air Force Academy, where he will continue his football career under the guidance of Coach Calhoun.  Nypaver, a member of the 2012 OHSAA Ohio State Championship Football Team, received Second Team All-GCL honors. Kaleb carries a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the National Honor Society.  He participates in Little Buddies and is a Mentor Captain for Moeller High School.  Kaleb is the son of Joseph and Cynthia Nypaver of Eastgate.

JIMMY RODENBERG, a co-captain of the 2012 OHSAA Ohio State Championship Football Team will continue his career at Ashland University.  He will play linebacker under the direction of Coach Lee Owens.  Rodenberg was named Second-Team All-GCL.  Rodenberg is a current member of the Moeller Men’s Chorus, Matthew 25 Ministries and Mach 1.  Rodenberg carries a 3.5 GPA.  Jimmy is the son of John and Sue Rodenberg of Winton Woods.

 

KEITH RUCKER has committed to play football at the next level for Coach Bill Curry at Georgia State University.  Rucker played tight end for the 2012 OHSAA Ohio State Championship Football Team and will continue at tight end and fullback for Georgia State University.  Rucker is a member of his house basketball team at Moeller.  Keith carries a 3.0 GPA and has maintained honor roll status.  Keith is the son of Keith and Cathy Rucker of Sharonville.

NICK SZABADOS will play football next year at Lake Erie College under the direction of Coach Mark McNellie.  Szabados played linebacker for the Crusaders and will continue at that position next season.  Szabados was a member of the 2012 OHSAA Ohio State Championship Football Team and was named Second Team All-GCL, District Honorable Mention, and Division 1 Honorable Mention.  Nick has maintained honor roll for the past seven semesters and carries a 3.3 GPA.  Nick is the son of Thomas and Karen Szabados of Middletown.

KEITH WATKINS II has committed to play defensive back for Northwestern University under the direction of Coach Pat Fitzgerald.  Watkins was a running back for the Crusaders. A co-captain of the 2012 OHSAA Ohio State Championship Football Team, Keith was named Cincinnati Enquirer Player of the Year 2012, GCL Player of the Year 2012, and First Team All-GCL.  Watkins is also a four-year member of the Moeller Basketball program.  He has maintained a 3.5 GPA and honor roll status.  Keith is the son of Keith and Kathryn Watkins of Forest Park.

TREY LONNEMAN played forward for the Moeller Soccer Team and will continue his soccer career at Bellarmine University.  Lonneman will play center midfield for Coach Tim Chastonay.  Trey was a four-year member, two-year starter, and co-captain of the Moeller Soccer Team.  Lonneman was named the 2012 Offensive Player of the Year for the Crusaders and was First Team All-GCL and All-District.  Trey participates in Spanish Honor Society and serves as Mentor Group Captain, Christmas on Campus, Matthew 25 Ministries, Relay for Life Captain, and the Ronald McDonald House.  He is currently the captain for Ohio Elite Club Soccer.  Trey carries a 3.67 GPA and is the son of Rich and Katy Lonneman of Loveland.

PAT MCALPINE will be a four-year member of the Crusader Baseball program this year.  McAlpine will continue playing infield under the direction of Coach John Schaly at Ashland University.  Pat participates in Mach 1 and U4U, served as a retreat leader, and was selected as a Mentor Group Captain for the 2012-13 school year.  He carries a 3.0 GPA and maintains second honors.  Pat is the son of Paul and Lisa McAlpine of Blue Ash.
