From David Prenger, Head Coach Cross Country

The 2012 season has ended for the Varsity Cross Country Team on October 20th, 2012, with a 5th place finish (out of 14 teams, with only the top four teams to advance) in the OHSAA Division One Southwest Ohio District “A” Race held at Corwin-Nixon Park in Mason, Ohio.  However, Zach Hoffman did qualify as an individual for the Regional Championship with his 10th place finish in 16:32 (out of 101 runners).  Congratulations Zach!!  Finishing out the varsity roster for this race was Sam Bockhorst, Jimmy Clark, Brendan Mulvaney, Mitch Poch, Andrew Mendel, and Nicholas Mendel.

Complete results can be found on our Cross Country page on LetsGoBigMoe.com

Zach will begin his quest for State starting with the Troy Regional Cross Country Championship to be held at Troy Memorial Stadium on the banks of the Great Miami River in Troy, Ohio on October 27th, 2012.   Division One Boys Race time is 12:30pm.

From the GCL South, both St. Xavier (1st place race A) and Elder (4th place race A) did advance while LaSalle finished behind us in 6th place ending a 26 consecutive year streak of regional appearances for their program.   Number one state ranked St. Xavier is currently undefeated this season and is the heavy favorite going into regionals.   However, a very strong third state ranked Mason will be running on their heels looking for the upset Saturday.
