October 8, 2012

Elder held off a late Moeller rally and knocked off the Crusaders for the first time since 2008 on Friday night with a 17-13 win at Lockland.

Elder, No. 7 in the Enquirer Division I area coaches’ poll, led 17-7 with just over four minutes remaining, but had to knockdown a last-second pass in the end zone.

“We played really good on defense,” Elder coach Doug Ramsey said. “To keep them to 13 was a great effort.”

Elder’s Chris Schroer carried the ball 30 times for 141 yards and helped the Panthers move to 4-3 on the year.

Chris Schroer had 30 carries for 141 yards and a touchdown. Keith Watkins 17 rushed for 87 yards and a TD and had six receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown. Moeller, No. 4 in the poll, takes on Indianapolis Cathederal next week and Elder plays host to Winton Woods.
