High School Top 50: June 12

Staff Report
June 12, 2012

The Baseball America/National High School Baseball Coaches Association rankings are nearly set as only a couple of states are still in their state tournament. The Top 25 stayed relatively the same, but Texas' Carroll High (Corpus Christi) and Martin High (Arlington) dropped after failing to reach the state championship game. Both lost in the semifinals and saw Houston's Cy-Ranch High claim the 5-A title. Cy-Ranch joined the rankings at No. 18 along with No. 19 Rockwall-Heath High (Heath, Texas)—the 4-A champions.

The only team in the Top 50 still playing is No. 50 Lake Central High of Saint John, Ind. The Indians play for the 4-A title this Friday. Baseball America will release one more Top 50 on June 19 to reflect that result, as well as officially announce the High School Team of the Year.

The staffs of Baseball America and the NHSBCA compile the Top 25 rankings. Records indicated are as of June 10 and do not include ties.
