Lady Lakers short a bucket in Iowa title game

MARSHALLTOWN, IA--In a report to the Journal-Gazette, Lady Lakers head coach Dave Johnson compared the level of competition at the Marshalltown Classic to the Great Rivers Athletic Conference.

After winning their first tourney game in comeback fashion on Friday, the Lady Lakers Saturday comeback fell a couple points shy of a tourney championship, losing to Southeastern Iowa Community College, 60-58.

Victoria Wolke led Lake Land scorers with 24 points, including six three-pointers.

The Lady Lakers leave Iowa with a 4-2 record overall and two upcoming games in as many days this week. Tuesday night finds LLC travelling to Kankakee (No broadcast coverage).

On Wednesday night, the Lady Lakers return to Laker Fieldhouse to take on the Lady Trailblazers of Lewis & Clark Community College. Tip-off is at 6:00 p.m. The game will be simulcast on WLKL 89.9 FM and Lakers All-Access.
