Tweet the BoothGuy
January 12, 2013By Chet Novak of LAKE LAND COLLEGE
You can now tweet the play-by-play announcer in the booth during livestreams of Lakers basketball games via BoothGuy.
Optionally, you can e-mail the booth as well.
The Twitter feed will be viewed by the booth more frequently, due to the rapidity of its updating.
Those who prefer can utilize the Facebook commenting tool, allowing them to "sidestep" the booth if they'd rather chat amongst others online.
Like any new launch, there could be some “bugs.” Be patient, as during game action, there is little to no opportunity to squash em, if you will.
A similar opportunity for the broadcast audience to reach the booth occurred last season for a short time, however, the only available online tool at the time was Cover-It-Live, which didn’t always work the best, and no longer offers a free service. Twitter, Facebook, and basic e-mail are free services. Users visiting the BoothGuy blog can take their pick.
(Minors must have parental permission to use these services via BoothGuy.)
For the Saturday games versus Southwestern Illinois College, the media players for the women’s and men’s games, respectively are embedded on separate blog pages as the players launch immediately upon page load. (Don’t want the confusion of two players running at once!) A link to the women’s game is on the sidebar.
The blog has an easy learning curve and it's easy to "click" your way back to ihigh if you want. (There’s a link on a topside menu called "Lakers All-Access" that can send you back to the Lake Land College ihigh page. (There’s a link on the left sidebar of LLC’s ihigh page to BoothGuy.
Tweets and e-mails will be handled by sportscaster, Chet Novak, or an authorized agent of Drastic Measures.
