Murphy goes yard twice in Lady Lakers 31st straight win

MATTOON--LAKER SOFTBALL FIELD--Sophomore Madison Murphy went deep twice in a 9-1 victory over Rand Lake Thursday to help Lake Land to its 17th double header sweep of the season.

Murphy's first inning blast was a three-run homer to dead center field, the ball deflecting off the top of the fence and falling beyond.

Murphy hit a solo shot into the left field bleachers for her second round-tripper of the day.

Murphy now as three homers on the season, one short of team leader, Melanie Steer (4). Chelsea Presley also has three home runs.
