Lady Lakers sweep SWIC

MATTOON--LAKER SOFTBALL FIELD--The Lady Lakers of Lake Land College swept a Great Rivers Athletic Conference double header Tuesday, shutting out Southwestern Illinois College 12-0 and 9-0 in Mattoon.

Lake Land has Wednesday off before a Thursday double header versus GRAC leaders, Wabash Valley College, travel to Mattoon for a double header slated for 2:00 / 4:00 p.m. CST, resprectively.

Wabash Valley, like, Lake Land, has a perfect GRAC record to date, at 12-0. Playing two less games, Lake Land's current 10-0 record in the GRAC leaves the Lady Lakers one full game out of first place.

In overall records, WVC sports a perfect 20-0 while LLC shows at 25-5.

In the last NJCAA national poll, WVC nor LLC were recognized as a Top-20 team, but both squads did receive some votes. The national poll is due to be updated sometime Wednesday.
