Logan College swept the Lake Land College Lakers in a double header at Laker Baseball field Tuesday afternoon. The wins give Logan the series win over Lake Land after spliting a pair in Carterville. The Lakers, set up with a lineup built for the longball, couldn't out-bash the Vols on a day when the winds were running 25-35 m.p.h. straight out to left field and with gusts up to 45 m.p.h. Logan won 5-2 in game one and 10-8 in game two, winning by just three and two runs, respectively, but winning, just the same. Lake Land, now 1-3 in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference and 8-6 overall, travels to Normal, Wednesday, to play Heartland College at 2:00 p.m. CST. The Lakers then travel to Belleville on Thursday for a GRAC double header against the Blue Storm of Southwestern Illinois College; 1:30 p.m. / 3:30 p.m. CST. There is no coverage of these games.
