SKI RACE AT SKI BOWL ON CHALLENGING REYNOLDS RUN

Lakeridge High SchoolThe Lakeridge and Lake Oswego ski teams took on the challenging Reynolds Run at Ski Bowl last Saturday for the 2nd race of the season. Reynolds run is 1156 meters (3/4 mile) long with a steep sharp turn at the Waterfall slope. The course made for a tough Giant Slalom race despite the unseasonably warm weather and clear blue skies. The Lake Oswego girls team finished first with strong runs by Sarah Tucker (4th overall), Annie Wells (7th) and Graeson Fish (8th). The LO boys team finished 3rd with Travis Toal in 10th place, Cooper Cheetham in 12th and Alex Krenek in 17th.
The Lakeridge girls finished strong in 2nd place with sophomore Maddie Lawhead finishing in 1st place out of 39 Varsity skiers. Lauren McIver and Nicole Humphreys contributed to the girls’ team success finishing in 11th and 12th places, respectively.
The Lakeridge boys finished the race in 5th place. Jack Weary was 20th, Jack Benziger 22nd and Brandon Kuhnert 28th with Christian Anderson contributing to the team total.
The next race is a Giant Slalom race Saturday at Mt. Hood Meadows.
