Coach Katie started her swimming career in Chattanooga, TN at the age of 7. She swam for Stuart Heights (summer league) for 12 straight years, where she went on to coach multiple age groups.  At age 8, she began her USA Swimming career at Scenic City Aquatic Club, where she swam for 10 years. While at SCAC, she also swam for her high school (Girls Preparatory School), where she was a team captain, a three time All-American, and a Tennessee State Champion in the 200 free relay.  After high school, Coach Katie moved to Lexington to attend Transylvania University, where she swam and majored in Studio Art. During her four years at Transylvania, she was 3rd place in the 400 IM at the NAIA National Championships, garnering All American honors, as well as being an all-conference performer each year.  While at Transylvania, she also was on four record breaking relays, helping Transy capture multiple conference titles.  Currently, she lives in Lexington with her husband John and two sons, Jack (7) and Ben (2).  Katie is entering her third season as a coach for Colonel Aquatics in Richmond, Kentucky and is looking forward to a great year at Lafayette.
