11th Region Tournament Preview

After a succesful 13-4 regular season, the Lafayette High School boys' tennis team will take to the courts tomorrow to compete in the 11th Region tournament to be held at Shillito Park and Lexington Christian Academy.  

Sophomore Nathan Gillespie and junior Taylor Harris lead the Generals into regional tournament play this season.  Fresh off of their championship in the FCPS tournament, Gillespie and Harris have earned the #1 overall doubles seed as they look to maintain their undefeated record.  Gillespie and Harris have a first round bye.  In other doubles action, junior Ben Armbruster and freshman Jonathan Griggs take on Lexington Catholic's Schindler and Deaton in a rematch the Lafayette duo won 8-3 on April 17.

In singles action, senior Ethan Hughes takes on Scott County's Palmer Ward in the first round.  Sophomore Alex Money will challenge talented Henry Clay 8th grader #7 seed Alex Dubilier in first round action.  

First and second round play will be held on Monday May 7th at Shillito Park and Lexington Christian Academy starting at 8:00 am.  Quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals will all be held May 8-10 at Lexington Christian Academy starting at 4:30 each afternoon.  Admission is free.
