Generals capture Lafayette Classic title

The Lafayette High School boys' tennis team captured the team title in the first ever Lafayette Classic boys' tennis tournament.  The tournament featured Lafayette, Lawrence County, Paris, and Whitley County.  Lafayette finished with a total of 12 points while Lawrence County and Whitley County finished with a total of 11 each.  All 4 teams hope to send competitors to this season's state tournament.

Whitley County's Danny Butcher captured the singles crown and Lawrence County's duo of Jacob Estep/Chad Higgins captured the doubles championship. Lafayette sophomore Nathan Gillespie advanced to the singles final before falling.  Lafayette senior Ethan Hughes and sophomore Alex Money advanced to the doubles final before falling.
