Xterra World Championship

Congratulations to Cole Bunn on his qualification for the Xterra World Championship!   Best wishes at the race Cole, May Speed Be With You!!!

Xterra is the world’s premier off-road triathlon, combining a 1.5-kilometer (1-mile) rough water swim, a 30.4-kilometer (18.89-miles) mountain bike and a 9.5-kilometer (5.9 miles) trail run.  Xterra is also a part of US Triathlon Association.  

Cole qualified for the race by placing 2nd in his age group and 5th overall in the national amateur division at the US off-road Triathlon Nationals held at Snowbasin in Utah in September. This was a qualifying event that featured 1400 competitors in the triathlon and trail run events

The world championship race is scheduled to feature up to 800 of the top triathletes in the world, 30 plus countries will be represented with 17 present/past world champions, ironman champions, Olympians and Olympic medalists.  

Cole's goal is to go top 3 in his age group and top 50 overall in this elite world-class field.

WHEN:  The XTERRA World Championship starts at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 28, 2012
