27 Teams in 27 Days
August 24, 2009KYPrepSpace
After well over a month of driving, writing, shooting and editing...27 Teams in 27 Days is officially in the books.
We began on Saturday, July 21 by conducting 73 coach and player interviews in our studios at WKYT-TV. Videographer John Wilson and I went non-stop for nearly seven hours...shuffling teams in and out of the studio. Each team was allotted 15 minutes....with each individual interview having the coach or player's team colors in the background. John did a fantastic job with the color scheme...using filters to create the school colors. It was John's creativity that made the interviews rival anything a national network could produce. WKYT is blessed to have "John Willie" on our team.
We kicked off our 27 Teams' segments with the Paris Greyhounds on Saturday, July 25. The response was immediate with fans, coaches and players eager to learn when their team would air. Our last segment is slated for Thursday, August 20...which will feature two-time state champion Lexington Catholic.
I would like to thank coaches and players...who were so gracious with their time. Either John or myself also visited the practices of all 27 teams. Coaches gave an open invitation to go wherever and shoot whatever we needed. Again, I'm grateful to each of you.
You can find each of our 27 Teams segments on our website at wkyt.com....just click on sports and then the 27 Teams in 27 Days link at the right hand of the page.
See you on Friday nights!!
