SSG Jones, JStaff Sergeant James Jones serves as a Local Career Counselor for Marshall County High School and Graves County High School.
Hi, my name is James Jones and I am the Career Counselor for Graves and Marshall County. I wanted to tell you a little about myself! Where I'm From: I am originally from the Webster County and Providence area Why I joined the Guard: I joined the Guard three weeks after I saw our country attacked on 9-11-01. My Hobbies: I really enjoy restoring old trucks and spending time with my family. My High School Career: I was a 2 time State qualifier in Wrestling at the 130lbs weight class and I finished 7th in the state my senior year. My Family: My wonderful wife, Pam, works at Murray State University and she is working on a Masters Degree. My daughter, Sumer Starks, and my son, Keaton Starks are also attending Murray State. What I like best about working in the Jackson Purchase: I love working with the Murray ROTC, and this area of the state is very patriotic, that is really nice to see!
I come from three generations that have served in major conflicts Great grandfather served in WWI grandfather served in WWII and father served in Vietnam. I was at Cherry Point North Marine base in North Carolina after father had finished his last tour in Vietnam.
I have grown up watching what the service can do to help grow and shape people. I will be very happy to share my insights with you.
Feel free to give me a call: (270) 226-9543 Or email me: James.Jones2@usarec.army.mil We're going to have a great year! Go Guard!
